Brand visibility in AI answers: how to measure it

The method: which prompt set to use, how often to re-run it, what counts as a result and why the same question phrased differently returns different sources. The part the market sells without explaining. The hard part of AI search work isn't doing it — it's knowing whether it worked. An answer is generated from scratch on every request and depends on phrasing, conversation history and model version, so checking once and seeing yourself proves nothing. The workable method: fix a prompt set for your niche in the words your buyers actually use, run it on a schedule across several assistants, and track the share of answers that mention the brand, whether a link appears and whether any facts are stale. Referrals from assistants are tracked separately in analytics and always understate the real effect, because part of that traffic goes untagged. This page covers the method itself; the work behind it is part of the retainer.

This is the measurement method. The work itself is part of the retainer.

Why this matters

What happens without this work

🕳️

Brand absent from training data

If authoritative sources didn't write about your brand before LLM training — it doesn't exist for the base model.

📚

Content not being cited

Your site is in Google index, but LLMs pick competitors as sources.

🔁

No regular refresh

Perplexity and ChatGPT-with-search prefer fresh content. Static sites lose visibility month over month.

📝

Wrong content structure

LLMs extract data in blocks. Without clear H2 structure, FAQs, lists — extraction fails.

🌐

Weak PR profile

Mentions in Wired, TechCrunch, industry media — primary trust signal for LLMs.

What's included

What the work consists of

Training content analysis

We research which type of content LLM models prefer to cite in your niche.

Citation-ready content

We create content with structure, data and expertise — exactly what LLMs include in answers.

Authoritative mentions

PR publications in authoritative outlets increase the probability of LLM inclusion.

Structured data

Schema.org markup helps AI understand the entities and facts on your site.

Competitor benchmark

We analyse which competitors get mentions and why — used to inform strategy.

Mention monitoring

We track brand appearances in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini responses weekly.

Methodology

How it works, step by step

01

Discovery & audit

We map your current AI/SEO landscape: what works, what's broken, where competitors lead. Tools: GSC, Ahrefs, MarketMuse, custom NEXUS agents for AI-mention monitoring.

02

Strategy & roadmap

90-day execution plan with clear KPIs, weekly milestones, and dependency mapping. You see exactly what we do each week and what success looks like.

03

Implementation

Our team executes — content, technical, link building, AI-specific work. Your team focuses on the business. Weekly status calls keep you informed without micromanagement.

04

Measurement & iteration

Real metrics every week: rankings, AI citations, traffic, conversions. We don't hide behind vanity metrics. If something underperforms — we pivot fast.

05

Optimisation at scale

Once a tactic proves out, we automate it (NEXUS agents) and scale across all your assets. Manual work doesn't survive long with us.

06

Strategic review (quarterly)

Every 90 days: full strategy review, competitor benchmark, AI landscape updates, next-quarter planning. You always know where we're heading and why.

Pricing

What it costs

AI search work

part of the retainer from $1,500/mo

We don't sell AI search as a separate package: preparing a site to be quoted by assistants is part of the SEO retainer. The scope is set after a free audit of the project.

We take it standalone in one case only — another vendor runs your SEO and you need the AI part. On our pricing page that's AI-search adaptation, from $1,000/mo.

What the price depends on

  • How many prompts and which assistants we track
  • How much of the site has to be rewritten for direct answers
  • Whether the brand already has external mentions or we build them
  • Ongoing monitoring or one-time preparation

Being cited cannot be guaranteed: the answer is generated anew on every request.

Comparison

AI/GEO vs traditional SEO

Both have their place. Most clients need a hybrid. Here's how they differ.

Traditional SEO

  • • Targets Google, Yandex, Bing organic
  • • Keyword-centric: title, H1, meta, content
  • • Link building, technical health, content velocity
  • • Movement shows later: search results change slowly
  • • Checked in Search Console and Yandex Webmaster

AI / GEO NEW

  • • Targets ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Overview
  • • Entity-centric: brand recognition by LLMs
  • • Citation engineering, Knowledge Graph, PR
  • • Movement shows earlier: assistant answers are rebuilt constantly
  • • Checked against a fixed query list, re-run each month

Most of our clients run both in parallel: SEO for compounding long-term moat, AI/GEO for capturing the new generation of AI-mediated search.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you guarantee mentions in ChatGPT?

No. Language models cannot be directly controlled. But systematic work with content, authority and data structure significantly increases the probability of being cited.

Do LLMs see my site in real time?

Depends on the model. ChatGPT with search — yes. Base Claude — no. Perplexity — yes. We build strategy accounting for each platform's mechanisms.

What's the difference between LLM Visibility and GEO?

GEO is the broader discipline — optimising for generative engines. LLM Visibility focuses specifically on training-data inclusion and citation frequency in LLM responses. Often delivered together.
