Schema.org Markup

Structured data markup for search engines and AI. Enhances rich snippets and GEO visibility.

Full definition

Schema.org markup is a set of standardized vocabularies for semantically annotating HTML pages, enabling search engines and AI systems to precisely understand page content.

Developed jointly by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and Yandex in 2011. Now supports over 800 data types.

  • •Key types for SEO:
  • •Organization / LocalBusiness — company information.
  • •Article / NewsArticle — article structure with date, author, headline.
  • •FAQPage — questions and answers for Featured Snippets.
  • •BreadcrumbList — breadcrumb trail in the snippet.
  • •Product, Offer, Review — for e-commerce.
  • •HowTo — step-by-step instructions.

SEO impact: Schema.org markup does not directly affect rankings, but significantly increases CTR through rich snippets (stars, FAQ, prices, breadcrumbs). For GEO optimization, it is a key factor that helps AI extract facts from your content.
